THE Rebels got back to winning ways and reclaimed sixth place against Enfield at Wexham Park on Tuesday.

This was a good performance from Slough especially in the first half where they outclassed their opponents from defence through to attack.

Mark Hall was back in the team replacing an ill Marcus Richardson.

He and Dwight Marshall along with winger Junior Haynes worked well in attack and proved very dangerous.

On five minutes a Haynes cross was headed onto the crossbar by Hall with Dave Rainford putting the rebound over.

Despite Slough's positive start they fell behind on just 10 minutes when a Simon Livett corner was headed home by Denny Jones.

The rebels took just seven minutes to get back on level terms after more pressure on the Enfield goal.

A Dave Rainford corner was cleared to Mark Hawthorne who passed the ball out to Paul Barrowcliff.

His powerful 30 yard shot was fumbled by Andy Hall and Marshall was quick off the mark to tap home the rebound.

On 21 minutes an uncharacteristic mistake from Barrowcliff saw his pass back let Danny Alleyne through on goal.

His shot however was excellently saved by Danny Honey and when the ball reached Livett his 25 yard shot hit the bar.

The pace of the game then slowed down but Slough continued to dominate and create chances.

They deservedly took the lead on the stroke of half time.

Marshall made a superb run from his own half to the edge of the Enfield box.

He then passed the ball out to an unmarked Hawthorne who ran into the box, saw his first shot blocked before putting the rebound into the open net.

The second half failed to live up to the first but with man of the match Leon Townley a rock at the back the visitors rarely looked like scoring.

Grant Cooper skimmed the crossbar with a header on 53 minutes for Enfield and minutes later Steve Daly headed at the keeper from a Rainford corner.

Aaron Patton replaced Hall on 73 minutes and within five minutes he saw his 25 yard shot go inches wide of the post.

The major scare for the rebels came in injury time when a long ball found Danny Clarke who shook off Graham Kemp before firing wide with only Honey to beat.
