Tanzel Tezel turned himself into an instant hero with a last gasp equaliser to earn an unlikely point on Monday. The visitors were seemingly coasting to victory when they led 3-0 with just 13 minutes left but in a rousing finale, Slough netted twice in eight minutes to get back in the game and set the stage for Telel's dramatic entry.

He had only been on the pitch six minutes when Clement James chased a back pass, blocked Yeading keeper Matt Hodson's attempted clearance and pulled the ball across goal for the substitute to net from close range.

It put the seal on Rebels stirring fightback after they had seemed dead and buried with just 13 minutes left after the visitors had opened up an apparently unassailable lead.

But when Tony Thompson seized on a mishit shot from Veli Hakki and turned and fired home from ten yards it seemed to be no more than a consolation effort.

Then with five minutes remaining, Rebels great escape became more of a possibility when Rebels were awarded a penalty for handball. It seemed a very a harsh award as Hakki's volley hit defender Danny Tucker but Lee Archer accepted the gift to fire the spot kick into the roof of the net.

Rebels had been forced into several changes to their line up with Keith McPherson returning to the defence and another new signing, Roscoe Dsane filling in on the right. Paul Holsgrove had a slight groin strain from Saturday while Barry Rake was headed back to Maidenhead and Graham Kemp was kept out by the injury collected in the win at Bromley.

And in a bright start, only a last ditch tackle prevented Junior Haynes from firing Slough ahead after good work from Peter Holsgrove. Dsane, who looked lively on the right hand side then put Clement James in but his low shot was saved well by Hodson with Haynes ready to pounce on any slip from the keeper. Little had been seen of Yeading in attack but in the 24th minute, Matt Edwards spurned a great chance, firing over the top from 12 yards with only Steve Mautone to beat.

Then Mautone produced an excellent save to tip Errol Telemaque's flick over the bar then at the other end, a stretching James was just unable to turn in at the far post. Then eight minutes before the break, Edwards atoned for his earlier profligacy when he slid the ball home from a similar distance.

Despite the setback, Rebels still looked confident and Hodson matched Mautone's earlier save when he palmed away a vicious volley from Holsgrove seconds before the interval.

That was the last action for Holsgrove who was replaced by Chris White and with the re-organistion, Slough were at sixes and sevens at the start of the second period.

After several scares, James squandered a good chance to draw them level when Dshane played him through but he fired a shot wide of the near post with only Hodson to beat. And Rebels were made to pay for the miss on 63 minutes when Yeading sub Bobby Berzadi got to the byline and pulled the ball across goal for Matt Miller to turn in at the far post.

Things got even worse for Slough when Telemaque applied the finishing touch following a corner with 20 minutes left and it seemed all up a minute later when Paul Barrowcliff miscued from ten yards.
But Thomspon's strike, Rebels first at Wexham Park this season, set the scene for the dramatic finish.
