Sammy Winston's scoring prowess sparkled once more for the Rebels as they continued their unbeaten run to six games, five of them in the league. But Winston, who scored the only goal of the match, did miss a penalty, though manager Steve Browne would no doubt be pleased with his side's healthy position in the table.

On the half hour Winston was put through into the area but was brought down by Stuart Bamford inside the box leaving the referee with little choice but to award a penalty. Obviously Daryl Pelton in the Uxbridge goal hadn't read the script and pulled off a great save from Winston's penalty low to the keepers right hand side. However, Uxbridge missed a penalty of their own in the second half. Up stepped Kevin Cleary but his effort was well over the bar.

Within a minute of this let-off, Slough had finally taken the lead. Some good Slough pressure saw Paul Mills at left back knock the ball back to his keeper. Winston was quick to pounce and narrowly beat the keeper to the ball and had a lucky deflection leaving the ball in his path. Despite the best efforts of Stuart Bamford to pressure the striker, with the form Winston is in, he wasn't going to pass up such an opportunity and slotted the ball into an empty net.
