Slough's surge through the Cup competitions continued tonight as the Rebels beat a weak Wycombe side 1-0 with an early strike from Rebels forward Sammy Winston securing a place in the next round of the Berks and Bucks cup as Wycombe sunk to a defeat by the hands of old rivals Slough Town.

Slough dominated the game right from the start, as an early Paul Ellis cross saw Elias Bakishan's shot got over the bar. After a reasonably quiet period, Alvin Bubb's super run down the right saw a stretched Sammy Winston just meet the ball with a weak header straight to Steve Williams in the Wycombe goal. Another charge down the right wing in the 25th minute saw another excellent cross from Alvin Bubb met Sammy Winston's right boot for a Super half volley Strike which Williams had no chance at reaching.

Martin Lee had a half decent chance in the 33rd minute which saw him run from the centre but put it to the left hand side of the Slough goal. From the goal kick was another Alvin Bubb run down the left, but the cross was just too early for the stretched Paul Ellis.

Another mess up from Slough's Debutant Chris Ferdinand saw a slick Wycombe attack yet again slipping it wide of the Slough goal. Just before the end of the half, Wycombe Defender Ryan Parsons bought Sammy Winston down in the box, but no whistle resulted in a corner, which was looped high in the air, but the best chance came from the leaping Alvin Bubb, but proved to be too small.

The second half saw Slough's Sammy Winston replaced by Tony Boot and a change in the Wycombe goal, as Tom Gott took over Steve Williams's duty. Slough came out firing after the break and a dangerous Alvin Bubb cross was cleared by the Wycombe Captain Roger Johnson.

Tony Boot was also looking to take on the defence but a shot straight to Gott saw a scrappy clearance but Paul Ellis was just too weak in the battle and was sent up field again by Ben Townsend. Moments later a great pass from Another Slough Debutant, Perno saw a great run down the middle by Elias Bakishan but shot embarrassingly wide.

The 57th Minute saw another Goalkeeper change, as Gary McCann was replaced by fans favourite Dominique Jean Zepherin. The 61st minute saw some great passing play including Perno, Boot and Ferdinand but Ferdinand's long range effort was well wide of the sticks. Wycombe's only chance came minutes later, which saw an Excellent save by the stretched Zepherin, denying a super effort by the Wycombe striker Jonny Dixon. Wycombe had another chance from a free kick moments later, which saw a very late challenge from Ferdinand, but again Dom Jean leapt to the soaring ball.

A midfield change for the Rebels in the 78th minute saw Byron Bubb replacing Paul Ellis. Roger Johnson had a half decent chance but placed it in the same corner as the diving Zepherin. The last minute of the game saw a great run by Byron Bubb but once again a super tackle and clearance by Johnson denied Slough a second.
