Slough equalled their biggest win of the season with another 4-0 victory, this time over Great Wakering Rovers to get back to winning ways after a disappointing run of defeats.

It did take the home side some time to settle down in the match with the Great Wakering defence marshalled by former Aldershot Town defender Terry Howard not giving the Rebels any easy chances early on. Midway through the half Slough had their first real opportunity when a fine run by defender Dean Palmer saw him take the ball past three Great Wakering defenders before hitting a left-footed shot that was saved by goalkeeper Dave Hudson.

Palmer's run and shot seemed to spark Slough into action as they gradually began to take a grip of the match and just four minutes before half-time they took the lead. Ryan Spencer picked up the ball in midfield and ran at the Great Wakering defence before firing a right-footed shot that flew into the corner of the net.

After half-time Slough had good chances to increase their lead with good chances falling to Byron Bubb, Tony Boot and Dean Palmer. They had to wait until 63 minutes though to double their lead though when a run and cross from the left by Byron Bubb found Andrew Deaner in space. The Rebels striker sidefooted the ball high into the net.

With the Rebels in total control of the match Slough Town manager Steve Browne threw on former Hayes and Crystal Palace reserve midfielder Ryan Williams to make his debut. The Rebels new signing made a good impression as his run and cross was deflected into the net by a Great Wakering Rovers defender to increase the lead to three-goals and then he could have scored himself with a header that he put past the post.

Fellow substitute Alvin Bubb wrapped up the points for the home side with a shot from the left that went into the back of the net via the post.
