Following two disappointing performances, resulting in two heavy defeats at Welling and Hampton, Slough needed a result to lift their fortunes again. Whilst not at their best, they did get the result they wanted.

It was the Rebels first visit to the impressive Imperial Fields stadium and left the supporters dreaming of what could be with discussions continuing around the potential development of Kennedy Park for a new home for the Rebels.

Despite their recent form, Slough started strongly. They had the ball in the net as Haddow converted from a Hyatt free kick, but the linesman deemed the wing back offside and the goal was chalked off.

Whilst Slough had settled into their rhythm, the home side were still looking dangerous on the counter. Foster had to be alert and pulled off a few saves as the home side looked to take the lead but it was the Rebels who got the opening goal of the game.

Daly was allowed space in the area and taking the ball under control, turned and volley it home from inside the box.

The second half continued in a similar pattern. Both sides were playing well until it came to actually getting shots of note taken.

Birthday boy Ian Hodges did finally extend Slough's lead. With 58 minutes on the clock, Haddow advanced down the left wing before laying the ball into the path of Hodges who put the ball into the corner of the net.

Slough were content with their lead and happy to see the game out, which they managed to do successfully.
