Slough looked to continue their recent good form following two cup wins over Heybridge and draw at Wealdstone as Tonbridge were the visitors to Stag Meadow.

The first chance of the game fell to Hodges, returned to his natural position leading the attack, but he was not able to get his effort on target having been played in behind the visiting defence.

Hakki was the next to go close. From a free kick just outside the left hand channel of the area, he attempted to bend the ball into the near top corner with the keeper expecting a cross but the ball went a foot wide.

From their strong start, the pressure paid off for Slough and they took the lead through a penalty. Mason was crudely brought down in the area having already gone past two defenders and Saulsbury stepped up to convert his second penalty in as many games, placing the ball just left of centre as the keeper again went the other way.

Tonbridge were struggling to get sight of Parkin's goal and their only chance of note of the half came from a free kick which Parkin held comfortably.

Slough extended their lead after sixty eight minutes through Matt Murphy. A long throw into the area was cleared to just outside the area. The ball was worked to Murphy just left of centre and some quick footwork moved the ball towards the centre before he unleashed an effort which found the far corner leaving the keeper helpless.

Tonbridge enjoyed the majority of the possession in the remainder of the game, but just as they had seen for the earlier parts of the match, they were against a Slough defence offering little opportunity and Slough managed to see the game out with relative ease.
