A new look Slough side travelled to New Lodge for the opening game of the season as six of the fifteen man squad were new in and making their debuts for the Rebels. Adam Paget, Mark Avery, Michael Alexis, Leon Woodruffe, Tyron Daly and Josh Millar all featured at some point alongside some long standing Rebels.

Billericay started the better of the two teams but took the lead under controversial circumstances. Billericay hit a long diagonal ball from the back and a cross from the right was claimed by Parkin but under a heavy challenge the ball fell free and George Lay side footed into the empty net. Despite protests from the Slough players, the goal stood and Parkin required treatment but was able to continue.

Slough's first attack of the match also led to their opening goal. Ian Hodges worked out to the left hand side where Woodruffe had plenty of space. He set himself and then fired in a low ball across the box which Hodges was able to run onto and fired into the top of the net from eight yards out.

Slough now came back into the game and the match was more even. Slough could have taken the lead with twenty five minutes played when the ball was fed into the area. Alexis, with Hodges close by, was nudged over under pressure and improvised to get a shot away whilst on the floor, but Capleton was out quickly and made a good save to claim the ball.

Whilst Slough had come back into the game to even it up, it was soon gone within seven second half minutes. Billericay had reestablished their dominance as the first half concluded and took this supremacy into the start of the second half with two goals which effectively ended the match.

Billericay took the lead with forty seven minutes gone. From a goal kick the ball was played over the top of the Slough defence and Cousins was able to run on and slot the ball across the goal into the far corner and past Parkin.

Worse was to follow for Slough as just five minutes later, Hockton extended the lead for the home side. Billericay broke down the right wing and crossed in to Hockton towards the near post. He controlled and turned and hit a low shot into the back of the net.

Slough did have a couple of sights of goal with Alexis, but the midfielder did not find the target with a couple of efforts from outside the area.
