Slough made it back to back wins as they overcame the challenge of fellow strugglers Redbridge by the odd goal in five on Saturday.

Slough started brightly and had a chance in the opening minutes as Glen Harris received the ball from a Jamie Brooks flick on and cut inside from the right channel to hit a low bouncing drive whic Clark Masters did well to turn away to his left.

Slough were on top and Brooks nearly snuck in a low cross at Masters near post before Slough took the lead with twenty minutes gone. Redbridge cleared poorly and the ball fell to Ian Hodges just outside the area and in space. He took a touch to settle and then fired in a low drive into the corner past Masters dive.

Slough extended their lead with thirty two minutes gone. Andy Ballard moved the ball out to the left hand side to Leon Woodruffe. The wing back crossed in and Harris laid the ball into the path of Hodges. The striker attempted to put the ball over the onrushing Masters, but the keeper saved well. The ball fell out and Harris reacted first to round the grounded keeper and fire high into the net past the covering defender.

Redbridge pulled one back through Daryl Plummer shortly before half time. Clyde Roberts made some good ground down the right hand side and crossed to the back post to Plummer. Plummer was able to cut inside Steve Daly and fire across the goal past Michael Parkin to reduce the deficit.

Slough did manage to restore their two goal lead on the stroke of half time. Harris received the ball and drove towards the area. Threading a ball through to Hodges, the striker turned and appeared to be brought down but the ball fell into the path of Brooks who was able to chip the ball over the keeper and into the net from eight yards.

Redbridge started the second half well and tested Parkin with a strong drive from the edge of the area before adding their second of the night. Slough were caught out on the counter and the ball was fed across to Daryl Wilson who rounded Parkin before slotting into the net despite a late lunge from Daly to keep the ball from crossing the line.

Slough had a few chances to extend their lead as Harris was well placed in the area but shot over and David Apata had a firm shot from the edge of the area at the other end but Slough held on for their second win of the season.
