Michael Bartley came back to haunt Slough Town as the former Rebels striker scored twice against his former club to take Didcot into the quarter-finals of the Berks & Bucks Senior Cup.
It was clear in the opening minutes that it would be a tough game with the home side dominating proceedings early on with both Jack King and former Maidenhead United midfielder Richard Witt coming close.
Slough’s best effort in the opening stages came from a Danny Jeffery’s strike that was cleared away by another former Rebel Matt Bicknell.
Soon after the home side took the lead when Vine headed in from close range and then soon after Witt added a second to double the advantage.
In the second-half Didcot added a third when Vine added second then Bartley got in on the act to score his first of the match.
He soon added a second when he poached to stab home at the second attempt after a fine save by Richard Barnard.
Slough did manage to score a consolation goal though when new signing Chris West turned the ball into the net following a corner.
Didcot Town: Watkins, Lewis, Bicknell, Heapy, Davis, Jack (O'Connor 58), Witt (Elkins 52), King, Bartley (Peirson 71), Vine, Mulvany
