Five goals in the first 45 minutes were enough to decide the outcome of this entertaining League Cup quarter-final.
Slough took an early lead through an unlikely source when Simon Sweeney's cross come shot looped over the Cambridge 'keeper - his first for the club in 97 appearances.
Slough were unable to hold on against their Premier Division counterparts as the Lillywhites went on to grab two quick goals on the half hour mark, before extending their lead with a third.
Simon Martin's penalty on the stroke of half time lowered the deficit but Slough were unable to complete the comeback in the second half.
