Alex Brown's first-half goal sealed a second pre-season victory for Slough at Hellenic League side Holyport.

In a closely-contested game, which was a good work-out for both sides, Slough included former Chesham United midfielder Dom Marsala in their line-up. Marsala is a player who will be familiar to many Rebels fans, having scored the opening goal for the Generals in the 4-0 playoff final defeat at Chesham in May 2010.

Alex Brown pounced to volley home in the first half after a free-kick on the left flank was not cleared properly by the Holyport defence.

Although neither goalkeeper was tested too often, Jackson had to be alert to make a low save from Holyport's number 11 in the first half, and Danny Burnell missed the target on a couple of occasions after getting into good positions.

Trialists Baboucarr and Charlie Mpi, who has played for Thatcham Town, Maidenhead United and Wealdstone amongst others, also got run-outs, with under 18s regular Billy Canavan an unused substitute.

Slough now look forward to a first ever meeting with the new Windsor FC at Stag Meadow on Saturday.
