Second-Half goals secure win at Tring

A low drive into the net by Steve Sinclair and a fine individual goal by Charles Mpi saw Slough claim victory in their latest pre-season fixture against Tring Athletic.

In an fast-paced start by both sides it was the Rebels who had the better of the early efforts on goal. One of these efforts came from Ben Abbey who saw his well-placed lob tipped over the bar by the home goalkeeper.

Tring though - playing in their first pre-season game were not without chances of their own in an enjoyable first half.

In the second-half the away side took the lead when Danny Murphy crossed from the left, with the ball falling into the path of Sinclair. He fired the ball low into the net.

The Rebels went two goals ahead when substitute Mpi was found with a long pass. The striker did well to hold off the challenge of a defender before hitting the ball past the goalkeeper into the net.

The home side had chances to get back into the game though, and were only denied by some fine late saves from Smith as Slough won fourth time in five this pre-season.
