Scott Davies was pleased with another good exercise after a 5-2 win at Risborough Rangers in pre-season.

Jefferson Louis opened the scoring on 12 minutes, going on a great run before cutting inside onto his right foot and drilling the ball low into the goalkeeper’s bottom right corner.

On 23 minutes, Slough were awarded a penalty after David Ogbonna had his heels clipped in the box. Nathan Minhas stepped up and saw his spot kick saved, but was successful with the follow-up, which just beat the despairing dive of the Risborough goalkeeper.

A third goal arrived courtesy of an own goal five minutes before the end of the half, with Ogbonna cutting the ball back across the box and forcing the error from a Risborough defender.

The hosts pulled a goal back on 59 minutes, but Slough quickly restored their three-goal lead. A short corner led to a ball into the area, which was headed down into the six-yard box by Louis and tapped in by Abisogun after a Risborough defender mishit his attempted clearance.

The hosts survived a mad scramble in the box, with multiple attempts from Louis, Minhas and Abisogun all blocked.

Risborough added another goal on 74 minutes after the Rebels had made four changes, with the introduction of EDS players Alfie Tucker, Kian Austin, Josh Stranks and Makael Scott.

And three minutes from the end, Austin capped off the evening with a fine individual goal, dribbling past three defenders before firing low into the bottom corner from the edge of the box.

The Rebels now complete their pre-season preparations with four home matches, starting with Uxbridge on Saturday (1pm kickoff).
