Slough Town 2-1 Penn & Tylers Green Reserves
Date: 15-09-2012 | Competition: League
Slough Town Reserves continued their winning ways against Penn & Tylers Green on Saturday, watched by a good crowd of over 60.
Following their opening 3-0 victory against Chinnor, Mark Betts' young side entertained the Buckinghamshire side. Both teams started lively, and both went close
Slough then stepped up a gear but somehow found themselves 1-0 down at half time, after being punished for an error in defence.
After the break, Rebels upped the tempo, playing good fast one touch football, and the last 20 minutes saw Slough really turn the screw and went close to an equaliser before finally getting one.
Abdul Ally hit the post and the Penn keeper pulled off some great stops, but with ten minutes remaining, Slough got the rewards they deserved when Darren Watson fired in a left foot strike which beat the keeper on his near post to seal another well deserved three points for Slough.
Betts remarked: "We could have won by three or four but I am more than happy with the team's performance and how they conducted themselves against a good Penn & Tylers team."
Slough travel to Kidlington on Saturday.
