Five Star Slough
Slough Town 5 - 0 Sun Postal Sports
League
Slough's U18 returned to winning ways after their disappointing loss against league leaders Wealdstone with a dominant display against Sun Postal Sports.Kick off was delayed due to Sun Postal turning up in yellow and blue, but were supplied with an alternate white kit allowing the game to go ahead.
Despite this, Slough kept focus and started brightly, and were rewarded within the opening five minutes when forward Tony Mendy scored after a mazy run, sliding the ball past the advancing Postal 'keeper.
Maintaining the pressure, Slough were fortunate to score from close range after a goal mouth scramble allowed Aaron Fergus to poke in the second after twenty minutes.
Sun Postal struggled to gain a foothold in the game and were reduced to few chances and ten minutes after his first, Fergus heaped more misery on Postal by doubling his tally.
Aaron Fergus continued to be a thorn in Postal's side winning a penalty after being brought down in the box. Tony Mendy stepped up to take the resulting penalty, but blasted wide.
Even after this setback Slough continued to force the game and minutes before half time scored a fourth, this time from centre midfielder Billy Canavan returning from injury after missing the clash with Wealdstone.
Sun Postal, looking to improve on their first half performance, made a number of changes at half time and started the brighter of the two teams, putting Slough under pressure for much of the half.
Slough's defence held strong and against the run of play scored the only goal of the second half. Canavan won a free kick on the edge of the area allowing winger Mo Sharif to step up and blast the ball past Postal's goalkeeper to take the score to 5-0.
