It’s official – our joint managers Jon Underwood and Neil Baker have scooped the Vanarama National League South Manager of the Month award for March!
The recognition comes after an unbeaten month for the Rebels in which they claimed 11 points from a possible 15, including a memorable win at Woking.
March began with Slough getting back to winning ways with a single goal victory against Hemel Hempstead, thanks to Lee Togwell’s strike – the first of three goals for the midfielder last month.
The Rebels then fought back from two goals down to draw at promotion-chasing Concord Rangers, Togwell scoring a late leveller after Francis Amartey had brought Slough back into the contest with his first goal for the club.
A 2-1 home win against another promotion hopeful in Billericay Town was followed by victory at Woking’s Laithwaite Community Stadium, where Amartey’s goal was enough to topple the league leaders.
The month was rounded off with a share of the spoils against St Albans, the Togwell brothers both on target, leaving the Rebels hoping to extend their unbeaten run in April.
