Following the tragic and untimely death of Justin Edinburgh, the Board of the National League discussed at a recent meeting that as a league it was felt only right and fitting to want to do something in his memory.
Justin’s family have set up a Foundation in his honour, the Justin Edinburgh 3 Foundation. The Foundation will be focusing on raising awareness of brain and heart disease and promoting the use of defibrillators in health clubs and gyms.
It was therefore agreed that the National League would ask each member club to hold a bucket collection at their first Saturday home fixture with the proceeds paid into the National League and a collective donation, topped up with league funds, to then be presented to the JE3 Foundation at a forthcoming BT televised game, thus also giving extra publicity to the foundation.
Slough Town will be holding a bucket collection at this Saturday’s opening National League South match against Dorking Wanderers at Arbour Park.
