Sam Elliott dissects a fine month for the Rebels and looks at what October may bring.

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly…
There’s no bad and there’s certainly no ugly. September wasn’t just a Carlsberg month, it was Stella (sorry!). Five fine wins and the Rebels are now unbeaten since August 10. Those three early-season defeats seem a long, long time ago!

So what was the month’s high point?
Looking at the league table, it must be the 2-0 win over Hemel Hempstead. If the Tudors are second, it shows there’s not much to be scared of. But that comeback over Dartford will live very long in the memory bank!

What about the rest?
Wealdstone are still flying - one defeat in the month shouldn’t rock their boat too much. Weymouth, Dorking and Braintree all took ten points from their four matches. Winless September sides Dulwich, Oxford City and Eastbourne will want better.

The Slough star man?
Where to start! Warren Harris has been brilliant. Dan Roberts and Matthew Lench equally impressive.

From the dug-out:
Neil Baker thinks events at Princes Park prove the character they have in the squad - but is also aware there are things the side must improve on to keep this run going.

Attendance check:
Slough’s 774 season average makes the the club the tenth best supported team in the division.

So how do things compare to last September?
Oddly, September was equally as brilliant last season with four wins from four. But this time around the team have scored three more goals!

The red-hot strikers right now...
The Golden Boot race is getting interesting. Havant hitman Jonah Ayunga still leads the way with nine but the scoring charts are tight. Second is Wealdstone striker Ross Lafayette with eight while Liam Nash of Hemel Hempstead, Billericay goal king Jake Robinson, Jason Prior of Dorking and St Albans’ Joe Iaciofano all have seven each.

What does October look like?
After the FA Cup it’s two home games against inconsistent sides - Billericay and Welling - and a visit to Oxford City, who have yet to get going.
