Slough head to Hardenhuish Park this weekend to face Chippenham in the FA Cup.

Slough Town head to Hardenhuish Park this weekend, to face Chippenham Town in their FA Cup Third Round Qualifying match, writes Declan Bonsor.

The Rebels are coming off an impressive 3-0 win against Flackwell Heath in the last round, with the opponents putting four past Cirencester Town, in a difficult 4-3 replay win.

The win over Flackwell in the previous round was a dominant one, with two goals from Ben Harris and Manny Williams adding the third. A more difficult task is in store on Saturday, and Jon Underwood and Neil Baker will be hoping their side can dig deep yet again to advance.

Supporters will hope Slough can continue their great goalscoring form to beat this week’s opponents, but history would suggest otherwise.

The Rebels have played at Hardenhuish Park eight times, with Chippenham winning three, Slough one and four draws. Although Slough may be in better form, the previous matches show that the Wiltshire side have had the measure of the Rebels in recent years, with two of those wins coming within the last eighteen months.

But Chippenham have only won a quarter of their twelve league games this season, with the joint highest number of draws – but in this game form will go out of the window. According to history, the Bluebirds are favourites, but Slough will battle all the way to try and claim a place in Fourth Round Qualifying.
