Squad update: Rebels enter two-week break

Jon Underwood provides an update on the squad with the club now having a two-week break from action.

14/10/19

We now have a two-week break before the Oxford City game, and we wanted to provide an update on the current situation within the squad.

Our recent form has been fantastic and the consistency of those playing means a number of players have not been regularly starting, so the coming weeks will provide a chance for some of them to do so.

Mark Nisbet - unfortunately following training last Thursday, Nis was concerned by how his heart was beating and following a check-up on Friday, it was confirmed that his heart had again slipped back to where it was previously. This means he has to wait again to have the procedure to reset his heart's rhythm, and depending on how this goes there is a possibility that a further operation will be required.

Guy Hollis - Guy was close to returning to action last week but picked up a slight groin problem which has set him back slightly. We are hopeful he can resume training in the next week or so.

Francis Amartey - we have agreed with Hendon to extend the loan for a further month. With no game for us for two weeks, this made sense particularly as we are now able to include a recall clause which will unable us to bring him back if required before the end of the loan period.

Joe Grant - continues to play games for Hayes & Yeading United on a dual registration basis.

Sean Fraser - will play for Beaconsfield Town tomorrow night and we hope he can get further games with them in the coming weeks.

Manny Williams - will play for Harrow Borough tomorrow night and hopefully again on Saturday.

Ryan Bird - our plan had been to get Birdy out on loan for a month, but due to the situations with Nis and Guy we will have to put this on hold for now and will re-assess in the coming week or two.

Nojus Trinovas - young goalkeeper Nojus made his debut for Windsor on Saturday on a dual registration basis and performed very well in a 3-0 win, so we hope he can get some further experience with them in the coming weeks.
