Squad news: Welling United

News on the squad to face Peter Taylor's Welling United at Arbour Park.

18/02/22

After our fantastic result on the road last weekend we return to Arbour Park tomorrow as we face Peter Taylor's Welling United, writes Jon Underwood.

We've had a good week of training but unfortunately Ben Harris picked up a groin problem on Tuesday which will keep him out of this game. We also received the news today that following a scan Matt Lench is likely to be out for a further 3 weeks with a small tear in his hip flexor, which makes it even more important that we have been able to announce the signing of Kurtis Cumberbatch earlier today.

Freddie Grant has stepped up his training this week and should be ready to return to the squad next weekend but we won't risk him tomorrow.

On a more positive note Alfonso Tenconi will return tomorrow having missed last week's game with a back problem.

We are a little light on numbers with these injury problems and we do always have the option of bringing back Joe Lawal and Gabe George from their loans, but they are both doing really well and we have to consider the experience they are getting right now which is better than sitting on the bench for us and is so important for their development.

For now we will name the following 15-man squad but if the U23 game gets called off tomorrow, which is a possibility, we will add another.

Squad: Jonathan North, Sean Fraser, Josh Jackman, Edon Pruti, Mark Nisbet, Lee Togwell, Scott Davies, Aaron Kuhl, George Hunt, Kurtis Cumberbatch, Max Worsfold, Tyler Goodrham, Imran Kayani, Alfonso Tenconi, Manny Williams.
