Squad news: Chelmsford City

After a long pre-season, we are excited to begin our league campaign tomorrow against Chelmsford City.

After a long pre-season we are excited to begin our league campaign tomorrow against Chelmsford and finally welcome the fans back to Arbour Park for a competitive fixture, writes Jon Underwood.

We have been relatively happy with pre-season as a whole and believe we have successfully integrated our new signings in to the squad along with some very talented young players from our U23 set up.

The league is looking very strong this season, definitely the strongest since we’ve been at this level, with a number of sides extremely well backed financially, some full time sides and some very talented players and managers.

We won’t be making any wild predictions in terms of targets for the season but instead will focus on trying to be consistent and competitive throughout the season and see where that takes us. This begins tomorrow and we know it won’t be an easy start against Chelmsford but we’ll be doing all we can to get that first win under our belts.

We will be without Warren Harris (knee), Aaron Kuhl (suspended) and Gabe George (isolating) and have a couple of fitness tests from knocks picked up recently but we hope to be able to choose from the following 17-man squad.

Jonathan North, Josh Jackman, Sean Fraser, Freddie Grant, Guy Hollis, Ryan Bird, Mark Nisbet, Lee Togwell, George Hunt, Scott Davies, Matt Lench, Eitel Goueth, Paul Hodges, Max Worsfold, Joe Lawal, Tom Derry, Ben Harris.
