We are delighted to announce the signing of Temi Eweka from Maidenhead United on a permanent basis, for an undisclosed fee.

Temi impressed in two loan spells last season, helping Scott Davies’ side win 19 points in the 15 matches he was involved in – a huge contribution toward the Rebels maintaining their National League South status, which made him a firm fans’ favourite.

Subject to the approval of paperwork, Temi will be eligible to play a part in tomorrow’s match at Weston-super-Mare.

A delighted Scott Davies commented:

“To get Temi back in on a permanent deal is absolutely massive for us. There’s no denying that defensively we need to do better and I’m in no doubt that will only improve with Temi at the heart of the defence.

“It’s an option that I thought could arise at some point but probably not this early into the season, but it’s certainly one that I’ve had my eye on because of how well he did for us previously.

“Having spoken with Temi, he’s fully aware that playing games is the most important thing for him in his career right now and I’m delighted that he’s chosen us as the place to be for him to do that.

“I also want to thank the board for their help in getting this done so quickly and without any hesitation. With this signing, it means that more decisions will have to be made and one or two may have to depart, but I’m sure the arrival of Temi is one that the fans will be delighted with, that’s for sure.”

Temi Eweka had the following to say on his move to Arbour Park:

“At this stage of my career I just want to be playing regularly, and with that not happening at Maidenhead, I jumped at it when I heard of the interest from Scotty and Slough.

“The way I was treated last season was brilliant, by staff, players and fans, so I know I can fit straight into the team and I can’t wait to get going once again.

“I know that a large number of players in the squad has changed but I’m sure that together we can start getting results and climbing the table.”
