FA Cup: Rebels to travel to lower division opponents

Slough will travel to either Sutton Athletic or Flackwell Heath in FA Cup Second Round Qualifying.

09/09/19

The Emirates FA Cup Second Round Qualifying draw has handed the Rebels a trip to either Sutton Athletic or Flackwell Heath.

The two sides drew 1-1 in their First Round Qualifying tie on Saturday, meaning they will face a replay at Flackwell’s Wilks Park tomorrow (Tuesday) evening.

Sutton Athletic play in Division One of the Southern Counties East Football League, which is Step 6 of the National League System, and represent the village of Sutton-at-Hone, near Dartford, playing their games in nearby Hextable. This season is the club’s first ever in the FA Cup.

The Kent side have overcome Deal Town and Ashford Town (Middx) so far.

Rebels supporters will be more familiar with Flackwell Heath. Slough have faced the ‘Heathens’ on three occasions in competitive fixtures, twice in the Berks & Bucks FA Senior Cup and once in the Isthmian League Cup, and also won a friendly match at Wilks Park in 2012. Flackwell Heath play in the Hellenic League Premier Division, which is Step 5.

The Heathens defeated Oxhey Jets and Newport Pagnell Town to reach this stage.

The Second Round Qualifying tie will be played on Saturday 21 September, kicking off at 3pm.
