He’s a great addition to our forward line, and we hope that he can hit the ground running in the second half of the season
Scott Davies
We are pleased to announce the signing of 23-year-old forward Francis Amartey on loan from Aldershot Town until the end of the season.
The move marks a return to the Rebels for Francis, who originally joined in March 2019 and scored four goals, including a memorable winner at Woking.
Francis signed a two-year deal at the Shots last summer after a superb season with Hayes & Yeading United in 2021/22, scoring 29 times and picking up the Player of the Year award as they narrowly missed out on promotion to the National League South.
This season, Francis has enjoyed loan spells at Farnborough - who he helped reach the FA Cup Second Round - and Hampton & Richmond Borough.
Scott Davies added: “We are delighted to have Francis on board. We’ve been speaking over the past week to trying to secure his signature, and the fact we’ve managed to achieve it ahead of other teams in this league is great news for the club.
“I think the fans will be delighted to have him back after a couple of seasons away. He’s a great addition to our forward line, and we hope that he can hit the ground running in the second half of the season.
“Lastly, I would like to say thank you to Terry Brown and Aldershot Town for enabling the deal to happen. As always, they are a pleasure to work with.”
