Squad news: Welling United

News on the squad for tomorrow's match against Welling United, including a new loan signing.

17/02/23

We are pleased to welcome 19-year-old winger Moe Shubbar to the squad ahead of tomorrow’s match against Welling United.

Shubbar joins on loan from EFL League Two side Crawley Town until the end of the season. The Sweden-born player has previously made nine league appearances in a loan spell at Worthing this season.

Scott Davies added: “Moe really impressed me and a lot of others in our squad when playing against Worthing earlier on in the season. As soon as I was given the manager’s job, Crawley were the first club I rang to find out what his situation was.

“Having returned to Crawley last month, he’s been patiently waiting for us to get the deal done and it’s one that excites us all.

“We’re delighted to have him on board and will provide another attacking option now that Imran Kayani has headed out on loan.”

Meanwhile, Matt Burgess has required an extra week in his recovery from a concussion, having had a slight setback.

Matt Hall will miss tomorrow’s match, and will most likely miss Tuesday evening’s trip to Dartford due to a calf strain sustained at Chelmsford City on Monday evening.

Our squad for Welling United will be:

Will Dennis, Rhys Forster, Josh Jackman, Joe Dandy, Temi Eweka, Gabe George, Scott Davies, Lee Togwell, Matt Lench, Louis Walsh, James Dobson, Moe Shubbar, Johnny Goddard, Ogo Obi, Elliot Benyon, Francis Amartey.
