We are delighted to announce that Scott Davies has signed a contract to remain as first team manager of Slough Town Football Club until June 2026.

After taking on the role of manager in November 2022, Scott guided the club through a turbulent period and ensured the club retained its status at Step 2 with a number of important victories after Christmas, including a seven-match unbeaten run, along with memorable home wins against Hungerford Town and Chippenham Town.

The club has gone from strength to strength in 2023/24. After a difficult opening few weeks to the season, we reached the First Round of the Emirates FA Cup and forced a replay against League Two side Grimsby Town. A fine run of form since early September has seen the Rebels moving up the National League South table and flying high in the league’s form table. The club is currently on a superb run of 15 consecutive matches undefeated at home in all competitions and is the third-highest scoring club in the league.

Scott had the following message to supporters:

“My first thought is thank you to the people at the club who have shown faith in me by offering a longer term deal. Secondly, a huge thanks to everyone that has supported me over the past 14 months.

"The supporters have been absolutely fantastic to me, as a player and a manager. Each week they turn out in their numbers and no matter the result, we can always rely on them to be present. It’s safe to say that we couldn’t ask for better.

"As a club I feel that we have come a long way in a short space of time. The Tonbridge game at home was a defining moment in our season and one that we can now look back on and be glad that it happened.

"That evening, as a young manager, it would be fair to say that I struggled to see the light at the end of the tunnel (having lost 6 of our first 7 matches) but fortunately, thanks to the support I received, my resilience kicked in when I needed it the most and we managed to turn a corner.

"It goes without saying that this contract might be one that belongs to me, but huge credit must go to my management team and players for their efforts along the way. Our working relationship as a management team is first class and can honestly say that as much as we are colleagues, before that that they are friends that I can trust wholeheartedly which is very important in any successful environment.

"As for the players, they’ve been absolutely brilliant over the past few months and thanks to them we’ve found ourselves in a superb position in the league, along with the memories of the FA Cup and what that brought to the club.

"I’m over the moon to extend my stay and there’s nowhere else I’d rather be. Having been at the club for just under 6 years now, it’s a place that I call home. I’m comfortable in my surroundings but that doesn’t mean for one second that I’ll take my foot of the gas, it’ll make me work even harder.

"The board of directors and I know where we want to be and what our objectives are, so between now and the summer of 2026 I’ll do my utmost to bring success to the club and make it a place that the fans can be even more proud of.

"Thanks for your continued support, Slough fans, friends and family. Let’s finish the season as strongly as we can!”

Ashley Smith, CEO commented:

“I am extremely delighted Scott has committed to us until 2026.

“When A23 Football Group took over in 2023 we were excited to work with Scott. His values both on and off the pitch as a talented young manager align with our vision for the club. We have a joint vision of building a sustainable football club that puts future talent, fan experience and community at its core, and Scott is a massive part of that.

“We have enjoyed a positive start to the season and have full belief in Scott and a commitment to what he is building.

“Whilst expressing our commitment to Scott, there is also no doubt that we must recognise the work of his management team. Yella, Chris and Alex have had a huge impact since arriving at the club, and we are very grateful to them for the roles they play.”
