I’ll be watching with great pride knowing we’ve helped him progress to the next level

Slough Town Football Club can confirm that David Ogbonna has completed a permanent transfer to Sutton United for an undisclosed fee.
The 23-year-old attacker joined the Rebels in the summer of 2023 following a successful trial during pre-season and quickly became a fan favourite with his electric pace, flair, and eye-catching skill.
In total, David made 97 appearances in a Slough shirt, scoring 10 goals. He played a key role in the club’s memorable Emirates FA Cup run in 2023/24, scoring at Grimsby Town’s Blundell Park in the First Round replay, and lit up Arbour Park with unforgettable strikes against the likes of Dartford and Dorking Wanderers.
Manager Scott Davies paid tribute to Ogbonna’s progression:
“David moving on to Sutton United to become a professional footballer is a lovely story. He came in as a trialist from Step 4, has done extremely well for us and now reaps the rewards.
“There’s no doubt he’s been a fans’ favourite from the early days, giving supporters those ‘wow’ moments we’ve seen so often. The beauty with Dave is that he’s got so much more to give and plenty still to achieve – I believe this is just the start.
“He’s certainly far from the finished article, but I’ll be watching with great pride knowing we’ve helped him progress to the next level.
“Thanks for everything and good luck Dave – go well!”
Everyone at Slough Town would like to thank David for his incredible contributions on and off the pitch, and we wish him the very best in the next chapter of his career.
