Young German goalkeeper signed on loan from Barclays Premier League club Fulham in January 2014.Oberschmidt has been dubbed ‘the new Oliver Kahn’ in his homeland, due to his ability between the sticks and an uncanny physical resemblance.
The German youth international was signed by Fulham from FC Energie Cottbus, and was loaned to Harrow Borough in the Ryman Premier League until the end of the 2013/14 season, but cut that short to head on loan to Scottish champions Celtic until 31 December 2013. At Celtic, he played in all six of their U20 Champions League games, against AC Milan, Ajax and Barcelona.
