"Sweets" took over as manager at the club in March 2008, succeeding Mark Betts in the role.A series of improved performances came in the final month of the season as Sweetman used his contacts to pull in players from other teams to prepare Slough for the relegation battle they faced. Left the club on 2 March 2009 as Steve Bateman replaced him as manager.
