Slough threw away a two goal lead at half time as the Rebels of Worthing staged a superb second half come back to seal a 4-2 win.

Slough opened the scoring through Ian Hodges in the ninth minute. Josias Carbon beat two men down the right side and whipped the ball into the near post where Hodges had made his run and the striker made no mistake with a deft touch into the far corner.

Worthing were unlucky not to draw level when a strike from outside the area by Danny Davis cannoned back off the inside of the post and Andy Alexander was first to the follow up but Michael Parkin was up quickly and managed to block the effort before Josias Carbon cleared the ball.

Slough extended their lead through a lovely strike from Leigh Mason three minutes before the end of the half. Darron Wilkinson fed the ball in from the right across the line of the eighteen yard box. Steve Daly left the ball for the run of Mason who bent the ball into the far corner with a great finish.

The comeback started in the second minute of the second half. The ball was swung in from the right hand side by Andy Lutwyche and Richard Pacquette was first to the ball at the near post, flicking the ball in with his head past the stranded Parkin.

The home side were back on level terms eleven minutes later. Ballard was adjudged to have fouled Sam Francis as he cut inside from the right wing and up stepped Stafford Browne to confidently strike home the penalty to Parkin's left hand side.

Slough were unlucky not to retake the lead as some good pressure from Josh Millar saw him rob the ball from Mark Knee in the left back position. The young striker ran through and saw his chip bounce back off the bar with Mark Omerod well beaten. Mason too went close as he shimmied past his man but could not repeat his finish from the first half, firing just wide of the near post from the edge of the area.

Worthing got themselves in fron with seventy four minutes one. Davis drove forwards with the ball and his effort bounced back to Pacquette on the edge of the area and the striker finished well for his second, and Worthing's third, of the evening.

The home side completed the scoring with eight minutes left. An attempted pass on the half way line was cleared and Francis's pace took him clear of the Slough back line. The winger was able to finish low past Parkin as the Slough keeper tried to narrow the angle.
